The Dundee and Angus Chamber: Chamber Moderator Interview
April 8, 2019
Welcome to our blog section: Moderator’s Interview! This time we are talking to Hayley Kemp, the International Trade & Finance Assistant at the Dundee and Angus Chamber. In this section, we will be able to discover more about the role of the moderators on CONNECTS and, particularly, about their functions and visions on the platform.
“We are unashamedly ambitious for Dundee and Angus and believe a thriving local chamber of commerce is a vital component for success. And our location is pretty spectacular. My view of CONNECTS is that it is a great way for our members to make safe business connections overseas that they wouldn’t necessarily be able to make without the platform. I think in 3 years it will have grown to include Chambers from all over the world, and be connecting businesses frequently.
We are pleased to see the CONNECTS network growing, and the addition of new networks, including BECI (Brussels Chamber), which is a big chamber of commerce. I think this is positive and could open doors for our members to get in touch with businesses from all these new Chambers. One aspect I miss is the online training video you offer, which I could send to new members, and a way to attach an image to an opportunity. I hope that this will be updated online soon.
We have 11 countries already on CONNECTS.
The next country I would like to see on the platform would be America.
A future development I would like to would be being able to see how many people are on the platform at any one time. If we are able to add artificial intelligence on CONNECTS, I would like to see it matching our members with relevant opportunities.
